美國總統大選結果即將揭曉，遠東集團董事長徐旭東昨（7）日在SOGO造勢早會強調，選舉結果並不會影響到台灣，重要的是台灣要莊敬自強，且因應局勢變化調整生產結構，要加強創新走出自己的路。
他說，台灣進出口表現已連6季衰退，但現在由負轉正，可見台灣未來經濟前景並不悲觀；像是信義區新店正在趕工中，期能更快速在2年內就完工登場。至於SOGO在中國大陸市場營運不佳，出現虧損狀況，徐旭東強調，全球的百貨市場都在進行調整，他甫自美國出差回來，美國Macy's就關了50店，其他零售通路也在縮店，遠東集團在中國大陸市場也在調整，有賺錢的店面會持續營業，不賺錢的分店就要關，「各行各業都有上下好壞」這很正常。
徐旭東表示，中國市場真的很差，但在中國大陸的投資不會中斷，仍會持續，目前有專業經營團隊在進行評估，未來一定會汰舊換新，也會持續買進其他用地，除了上海外，還有三線城市等，但重要的是，投資開店後，要有本事在市場上站穩很多年。
